message from the president
Dear Resident, Business and Community members,
As President of the Palo Alto Firefighters and on behalf of the members that make up our organization, we would like to thank you for visiting our new website. Our goal was to create a central information source for the community to reference and to provide a more effective means to communicate with the public we serve. In the coming months, we will be adding other advancements and improvements to assist us in achieving this goal. By engaging in community outreach programs and supporting all of those who align with our philosophies, we feel that we can continue to make a positive difference in the lives of people who need it most.
Since our founding in 1958, the Association continues to work hand in hand with citizens, businesses, community groups, local charities, as well as the City of Palo Alto for all matters related to our work as City employees. Our organization is comprised of approximately eighty five members who serve the public 24-hours per day, 365-days per year, as well as the countless hours we dedicate to serving through our public outreach events. In 2016, our members responded to over 9,000 emergency calls and we are on course to exceed that figure in 2017.
In the coming months, we will be adding other advancements to achieve this goal. By engaging in community outreach programs, and supporting all those who align with our philosophies, we feel we can make a positive difference in the lives of people who need this most.
We appreciate you taking the time to view our site and would encourage you to reach out if you have any questions or any interest in learning more about the Palo Alto Firefighters. Additionally, if you would like to align yourself with our mission and charitable efforts, please contact us.
Sincerely,
Joe Penko President
Palo Alto Firefighters
